Purcari – legendary wine-making traditions
Purcari region of Moldova - is a narrow strip of land stretching along the western bank of the Nistru river and home to the famous Purcari winery.
Red grape production is prevalent here,particularly Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Rara Neagra. The Purcari vineyards grow sandy and clayey black earth soils, that makes the red wines to obtain a specific purple, deep red, almost black color.
Purcari wines are also special due to the micro climate of the region that makes the wine of inique flavor and high quality.
The winery factory Purcari was founded in 1827. The high quality wine was marked by a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1878.
